19th Annual Dickinson Festival of Lights

*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 12/30/2016
In the Beginning...The Dickinson Festival of Lights began as an idea between two neighbors, John Montgomery and Robert Morgan in 1998. Shortly after the Idea was formed, the images began to take shape and soon those images were transformed into steel objects wrapped with lights, creating some of the very displays that you see at the Festival today. The Festival began with 100,000 lights and encompassed the triangle of property where the Gazebo sits at HWY 3 and 44th Street. In 2003 the Festival was moved to Paul Hopkins Park to accommodate the growing popularity and room for new displays that were added.John and Robert's goal was to provide a family oriented event that would invoke the spirit of the holidays into people's lives. These two gentlemen left a wonderful legacy to Dickinson, a tradition that we can all be proud of and one we can hope to continue for years to come.
