Basic Building

This activity teaches students basic building learning skills.

This activity is best suited for 4 to 6 year old children, those who are entering Pre-K or K in the fall. Children learn how to assemble various projects made from different plastic blocks. Each project has a full color 8x11 picture for each child to look at as the teacher guides them through the building process. In this course children will build projects with gears. They will learn about gearing ratios (to make things go fast or slow), idle gears and crown gears and how each is used. To keep children’s interests fresh each project is a little more complex. Children will work in pairs as the teacher shows them how to build the project.
