We're casting nets, gettin' hands muddy, and tasting edible plants of Galveston Bay on our way to an observation tower....Won't you join us?

Ranger Lisa starts this hike at the Nature Center for a brief orientation and restrooms, then we'll drive towards the bay. Help use dip into the shallow murky waters of the estuary and discover life beneath the waves.

We park rangers say, "There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing choices," so dress accordingly.

Freshwater and saltwater mix and meet to create highly diverse wildlife and beautiful scenery on the bay side of Galveston Island State Park. Come learn about this special place with Ranger Lisa.

What to bring:

  • Park permit
  • Water bottle
  • Camera (for those great outdoor shots)
