Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, Derick K. Grant, and Jason Samuels Smith are three of the world’s most influential ambassadors of tap. They will be joined by drummer and arranger, Allison Miller, as they come together in excerpts of Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards’ And Still You Must Swing, a show that captures the heart and legacy of tap dance and honors the influence of jazz roots on this outstanding art form. Jason Samuels Smith’s Going the Miles, takes a step further than simply tributing Mr. Miles Davis, one of the world’s greatest American jazz artists. Additional performance by Texas’ own leading tap dancer Tony Merriwether.
