Variety is the best word to describe Discovery Green.  From fountains, gardens, and play areas, to classes, workshops, art, and reading places the versatility of the space is phenomenal.  Not to mention the festivals, signature events, and ice skating.  Much of the activities are FREE, and many more are very reasonably priced.  They even welcome your dog!

17.    Houston Arboretum & Nature Center

19.  The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

The Pavilion features contemporary concerts and performing arts events with the Houston Symphony, Houston Ballet and Houston Grand Opera. Mezzanine and lawn seating is free at performing arts events and include kid-friendly activities before the performances. The Children’s Festival in November hosts more than 13,000 guests over two days.

 

20.   Armand Bayou Nature Center

Preserves the wetlands prairie, forest and marsh habitats with which we have been entrusted, and provides opportunities for people to experience the Armand Bayou habitats and the importance of preserving these vanishing habitats.
