Island birding basics for wintering friends.
  • Travelers from all over the continent seek warmer weather, both human and avian.

Ranger Lisa leads a great family-friendly course on some of the most common birds during the winter. Binoculars available to borrow for the program. Get a checklist, find the hotspots, and delve into the best winter birds the island has to offer.

Join us at the Nature Center to get started and seek wildlife in the air, on the ground, and in the water. Be prepared for outdoor activities and short trail hike. Restrooms available.

    Please bring:

    • Weather-appropriate clothing (outdoor event)
    • Binoculars (or borrow a pair from us)
    • Interest in feathered friends
    • Park permit (left in vehicle, received at the park's main headquarters on the beach side of the park
