“America’s Western Landscape,” is a new exhibition by photographer Mark Burns that will make its debut at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts. The exhibit celebrates the raw beauty, vistas, and natural diversity of the American West. In many ways it represents the “best of the best” of Burns’ landscape work, with 50 pieces selected by the artist including black and white photographs, color photographs, and hand-colorized black and white photographs.

“America’s Western Landscape” will be featured in the Main Gallery and includes an optional audio guide accessible by smartphones. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and admission is free.

American photographer Mark Burns was born in Houston, TX and creates compelling images that are a unique mastery of composition, lighting, and photographic technique. In October 2015 he completed a five year project photographing all 59 of America’s national parks in black and white. “The National Parks Photography Project” traveled to six museums the following year, including the Pearl, with a combined attendance of nearly 300,000 people.
