Art and Social Justice

Monday, June 21- Friday, June 25

Teen voices are powerful forces for social change. This camp offers art activities, customized exercises, and artist talks and demonstrations designed to help teens develop artistic tools to be in conversation with what they see in the world. Teens will learn about various cultures and social justice issues while examining issues important to them, spending each day creating art reflecting their beliefs. Participants will share a student-led interactive showcase on the last day of camp.

Recommended for students ages 13–17. This camp is in-person.

Manga POP!

Monday, June 28 – Friday, July 2

Attention, artists and manga fanatics! At our popular Manga camp, create your own comics inspired by the Japanese manga style. Beginner to Advanced students will learn new skills to bring comics to life on paper and on the web. Learn how comics are made, compete in sketching contests, and show off your work on the last day of camp at camp Comic Con!

Recommended for students ages 9–14. This camp is in-person. Students will form small groups based on age.

Playful Playwrights

Monday, July 12-Friday, July 16

In this week-long session in partnership with Writers in the Schools (WITS), campers will have the chance to explore character, setting, and story structure in order to generate their own 5-minute plays. Each day will feature inspiration from Asian mythology, time for improvisation, and the revision of our monologues and dialogues. Camp will culminate in a supportive workshop performance of their scripts, starring the playwrights themselves.

Recommended for students ages 9–12. This camp is in-person.

Animals and Fantastic Beasts of Asia

Monday, July 19- Friday, July 23

Go on a safari across Asia! Journey through different countries to learn about the unique animals and mythical creatures that come from Asia. On each day of camp, we will explore a different region inside of Asia, to learn about the habitat and life of various creatures. Each day, we will also hear the stories and legends that feature these animals and other fantastical beasts! Campers will host a small safari on the last day of camp, featuring the stories and crafts that they have accumulated during the week.

Recommended for students ages 6-9. This camp is in-person.
