Bay Explorations at Galveston Island State Park

Explore the marsh and bay ecosystems, on land and below the surface. Galveston Bay is full of life. As the grasses of the prairie descend into the marsh, the plant and animal life changes with the tides. Become a defender of the bay by learning who and what calls the bay home.

This hike has very little shade so hats and sunglasses are highly recommended. Plan ahead - wear close-toed shoes that you can get wet. 

  • Bring: Sunscreen, bug spray, water, weather appropriate clothing and close-toed shoes that can get wet. 
  • Meet: Nature Center 
  • Cost: Entry fee is $5 for adults and FREE for children 12 & under. Park entry free with a State Parks Pass.
