City Ballet of Houston Presents the Nutcracker

An annual holiday favorite that delights audiences of all ages – City Ballet of Houston’s presentation of The Nutcracker Ballet returns to The Grand 1894 Opera House. The Nutcracker tells a story of a young girl who dreams of a Nutcracker Prince, a Sugar Plum Fairy, and a fierce battle against a Mouse King. Academy of City Ballet of Houston was founded by Mary Elizabeth Arrington and Luis Fuente. The school is home to City Ballet of Houston, an honor company of Regional Dance America/Southwest. ACBH’s affiliation with City Ballet of Houston allows its students access to performing venues such as Jones Hall, Wortham Center, Miller Outdoor Theatre, and, of course, The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston where the company has performed their Nutcrackers for over 25 years.
