Father Child Adventure with Voice of Wilderness

We have never heard a man say that he wished he had spent more time at work. Fathers, here is your chance to celebrate your relationship with your children, while also celebrating your relationship with God. This adventure will strengthen your bond for years to come.

Backpacking in Weminuche Wilderness
This adventure begins in the Mountain Light Lodge, where we will relax, enjoy delicious home cooked meals and get a good night's sleep before hitting the trail. Our journey starts on a trail leading deep into the heart of the Weminuche Wilderness. It follows a refreshing mountain stream with a variety of cascading rapids and waterfalls. We then turn toward the timberline, making our way high into the San Juan Mountains, to some of the area's most beautiful natural lakes. This is an ideal setting for you to work together with your child, learning to use map and compass, setting up your own camp or testing your fishing skills in a nearby lake or stream.
Hot Springs and Mountain Feast
After five days on the trail, we will travel into town and soak for a couple of hours in the renown Pagosa Springs Hot Springs along the banks of the San Juan River. Afterward, we will return to the Lodge for a wonderful mountain feast, all while recounting the adventures of the past week.
Quality Time With Your Child
How many times have you sought to spend quality time with one another? Parent-child relationships often suffer in a society driven by demanding time consuming responsibilities and activities. Perhaps it is time to make a change and break away from these demands for a week of adventure in the San Juan Mountains of Southwestern Colorado.
