Juneteenth Legacy Project “Absolute Equality” Art Installation Dedication

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 06/19/2021
Join us for the Juneteenth Legacy Project “Absolute Equality” Mural Dedication on Saturday, June 19 at 11:30 a.m. in Galveston, 22nd and Strand. As part of the dedication ceremony, we’ll celebrate the work of those who have raised awareness of the importance of making Juneteenth a national holiday. We’ll also tell the story of its history and relevance to today’s world. This massive 5,000 square foot art installation, “Absolute Equality,” created by Houston mural artist Reginald Adams and commissioned by the Juneteenth Legacy Project is an evolutionary narrative told through portals depicting important moments in history. This mural overlooks the site of the former Osterman Building, located at 22nd and Strand, which served as General Granger’s headquarters.
