National Youth Theater Announces Fall Theater Classes
Drama – Competition Prep! (ages 13-19)
Students will learn what is required to compete at the upcoming CiTA (Christian in Theater Arts) Secondary Theater Festival to be held right here in Houston in January 2020! This class will prepare students for the festival, and teach skills needed to audition for college theater programs, as well as other theater companies.
Musical Theater Dance featuring Thoroughly Modern Millie (ages 13-19)
Students will focus on improving their dance abilities, and gaining confidence performing in their next musical. Students will learn choreography and dance steps from the classic musical Thoroughly Modern Millie.
Musical Theater Voice with songs from Aladdin (ages 13-19)
This class will explore the fun, energetic, contagious music of Aladdin. Students will learn how to boost their singing to the next level for the stage, how to better harmonize, and receive audition feedback.
Triple Threat featuring The Sound of Music (ages 8-12)
Students will get to experience all three aspects of musical theater – singing, acting, and dancing! They will rotate through three weeks of voice, three weeks of acting, and three weeks of dance. Teachers will focus on music, choreography, and scenes from The Sound of Music!
Aloha! featuring songs from Disney’s Moana (ages 6-7)
Students will explore the music of the islands, featuring songs from Disney’s Moana. They will learn about different aspects of musical theater, all while having a blast through games, singing, dancing, and acting.
Fall classes begin September 3 through October 29, 2019. The weekly classes take place on Tuesday from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at Wildwood United Methodist Church located at 8911 Farm to Market Road 1488 in Magnolia.
