San Jacinto Family Day: Surviving the Runaway Scrape

When they learned that Santa Anna was marching an army towards them, many Texian settlers left their homes and fled east in terror. Thousands of civilians, mostly led by women, made the difficult, dangerous journey known as the Runaway Scrape. Join us at our February San Jacinto Family Day program to hear real stories of the Runaway Scrape and see if you can make it to safety in the Surviving the Runaway Scrape game.
When: Saturday, February 4, 2023; drop in between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Where: San Jacinto Museum
Age Range: Kids 5+; younger children are welcome, but will need to have an adult to help.
Cost: Free with purchase of ticket to the San Jacinto Museum. On Family Day, kids are free with the purchase of an adult ticket.
Note: The San Jacinto Museum and Battlefield Association and San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site are excited to announce the San Jacinto Family Day program. Every first Saturday of the month, we are offering a hands-on, interactive program designed to be enjoyed as a family. Child entry is FREE all day with the purchase of an adult ticket, so bring the kids or grandkids and experience Texas history as a family! While groups are welcome to participate in the Family Day activity, free child admission only applies to families.
