School may have started, but here in Texas our summer heat is not quite over yet. Bring your children to the Center to cool off with a favorite summer pastime – running through sprinklers! The Center’s front lawn, Pecan Grove, will be set up with sprinklers and kiddie pools of water and water toys for a refreshing morning of water play! Your child may bring water toys of their own (we won’t have enough for everyone) but note that we will not be responsible for lost or broken toys.

Parks for Pollinators Bioblitz

The City of Pasadena is partnering with Armand Bayou Nature Center for a fourth year with a fun fall pollinator event as a part of the national Parks for Pollinators campaign! Spring and summer are very important seasons for pollinators, but autumn is too! In the Houston area, there are many native plants that bloom in the fall such as goldenrod, snow on the prairie, swamp sunflowers, and blazing star that provide nourishment and sustain our native pollinators before the arrival of winter, including bees, butterflies, moths, and hummingbirds. As a part of this event, the City of Pasadena will again be providing free admission to the first 100 people through our gate. After the first 100, guests can enter with regular admission for non-members. Join us at the nature center to learn all about our native plants and pollinators and how you can become a pollinator champion and help them on their life journeys.
