Art of Opera Camp presents a world premiere opera by Mark Buller and Anthony Silvestri:  

THE IMPRESARIO OF OZ  

Presented in collaboration with AFA 

June 20–July 1, 2021 

Entering 9th grade thru graduated seniors Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. at the Wortham Theatre Center 

Performance on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 1:30pm at Kinder HSPVA 

$600 (2-week session) 

*Receive $50 off tuition if you also sign up for AFA’s sister camp Vocal Artist Intensive

Campers enhance their vocal and dramatic skills by rehearsing and performing a fully staged opera or musical production. This exciting camp fills quickly: register early to guarantee a spot! No audition required. All campers will perform in the opera The Impresario of OZ by Mark Buller and Anthony Silvestri, directed by Eboni Bell. 

A final performance will take place on Friday, July 1 at Kinder HSPVA 

Scholarships are available.  Please complete the online registration form and answer Yes to “Are you interested in financial assistance?” on the registration form.  HGOco Operations Manager Karen Mata will contact you to follow up. 

If your camper would like to be considered for a principal role, they must submit a video audition by April 1, 2022. You must be registered for camp to audition for a principal role. 

Students submitting a video to be considered for a principal role must prepare one piece, preferably in English. Classical repertoire is preferred, however, musical theater pieces written in the golden-age style (before 1970) or solo versions of spirituals or religious hymns may be appropriate for singers who have not studied privately. All pieces should be accompanied by piano and performed from memory.
