WHAT: Ka-wow! Superheroes will put their powers to the test as they experiment with mind-boggling science during the Summer of Epic Adventure – Forces Unite. BASF Kids’ Lab, an award-winning global program which encourages children to discover the dynamic world of science and its wonders, will take place every Monday, now through August 10, at the Children’s Museum of Houston. Explore chemistry through engaging experiments and demonstrations and learn how and why some of the world’s marvels work. SPECIAL EVENTS:Chemistry is Bananas: Extract DNA from your favorite breakfast fruit – a banana! Then, learn about the molecular structure of nucleic acids by doing so. Event Times: July 27 at 11 a.m., 12:30 and 2 p.m. in Tree Top.Energy Loves Produce: Build a battery out of a super-sour lemon and test your knowledge of subatomic particles and electrons. Event Times: Aug. 3 at 11 a.m., 12:30 and 2 p.m. in Tree Top.Operation Filtration: Turn dirty, inky water crystal clear as you put to use mechanical, microbial, and chemical filtration.Event Times: July 20 and Aug. 10 at 11 a.m., 12:30 and 2 p.m. in Tree Top. WHEN:BASF Kids’ LabMondays, July 20 and 27 and Aug. 3 and 10, 2015 Limit 16-children per session (Each child must be accompanied by an adult; no need to pre-register).
