Dance Arts and Sciences Summer Program
Dance teaches discipline and focus, develops analytical thinking skills, provides a sense of accomplishment, and is an outlet for emotional expression.
Did you know that dance is both an art form and a science?
Through experiments and games, your child will be exposed to both artistic and scientific aspects of dance such as costuming, audience influence, physics, nutritional sciences, and more!
Dance classes will include ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, and modern.
Experiments will be conducted to enhance understanding of: centripetal force, gravity, force, inertia and momentum, action and reaction, how our bodies process different types of food...
Games will reiterate what is learned in the experiments.
Students will apply what they learn in experiments and games as teachers relate the topics to steps and concepts used in dance class.
Students can look forward to designing their own costume and seeing it come to life and be able to take it home at the end of camp.
The smoothie bar experiment is also guaranteed to be a delicious hit with the kiddos too.
