In this popular, unique HITS workshop, students learn songs and dances from blockbuster movie musicals in a challenging and fun environment. Students will reimagine musical numbers from the movie musical, Wicked. This is not a traditional performance of these titles with assigned roles, but a new interpretation of the songs, such as "The Wizard and I," "Dancing Through Life," and "Defying Gravity," live on stage. The week culminates in a cabaret-style performance.

Movie Musical LIVE! Wicked
Grades 6–10

Sing and dance on our stage inspired by the silver screen.

In this popular, unique HITS workshop, students learn songs and dances from blockbuster movie musicals in a challenging and fun environment. Students will reimagine musical numbers from the movie musical, Wicked. This is not a traditional performance of these titles with assigned roles, but a new interpretation of the songs, such as "The Wizard and I," "Dancing Through Life," and "Defying Gravity," live on stage. The week culminates in a cabaret-style performance giving each student a chance to shine!

ONE WEEK
Rehearsals:
July 07 - 11
Monday - Friday
5:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Dress Rehearsal:
Saturday, July 12, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Performance (Ticketed):
Saturday, July 12, 7:00 p.m.

Student participation in the dress rehearsal and public performance is required. Please consult your family’s calendar before registering for this class.

TUITION:
$595.00 - After March 3
$25.00 annual registration fee per account may apply

*Financial Assistance is available through Scholarship Applications. These applications must be submitted BEFORE registering for the class. Applications will not be processed until Early Bird Pricing has ended.

ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Because of the collaborative nature of production, absences are highly discouraged. Please inform HITS of all currently known scheduling conflicts before the start of your child’s first class. If there are several rehearsal conflicts, the result may impact the student's full participation in the performance. In the case of emergencies or last-minute illnesses, please call 713-861-7408 or email HITS Customer Service.
The creative team may reassign the material of any student who accrues more than two (2) unexcused absences or late arrivals to support the integrity of the performance and the preparation process of the entire cast.
Attendance during dress rehearsal and performance is mandatory.

ATTIRE:
Comfortable clothing that allows movement and closed-toed shoes with rubber soles. Jazz shoes are recommended.

HEALTH/SAFETY:
Students will be required to adhere to all safety procedures and practice social distancing at all possible times. HITS Theatre reserves the right to refuse entry or dismiss anyone who does not adhere to theater policies. For more information, visit https://hitstheatre.org/health-and-safety/

CANCELLATION:
Requests for refunds or cancellations must be submitted in writing seven (7) days prior to the first day of the class or program to be eligible for repayment. Refunds will be granted less a $50.00 non-refundable processing fee. The annual registration fee is non-refundable.
