Summer Camp Experience

Galveston Children’s Museum Summer Camps provide children entering kindergarten through 5th grade with hands-on, screen-free learning experiences that spark creativity, confidence, and curiosity. Each week features exciting themes such as ocean exploration, robotics, cooking, storytelling, engineering, art, and game design, led by experienced educators and museum staff who create engaging, age-appropriate activities every day. Many camp themes are inspired by camper feedback and interests, creating programs built around the topics children are most excited to explore.

Campers are grouped into younger elementary and older elementary age ranges to support developmental needs and encourage meaningful peer interaction, while we also work with families who would like siblings to stay together whenever possible. Parents appreciate our small-group environment, structured daily schedule, and focus on social-emotional growth, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. Campers bring their own lunch each day, and snack breaks are built into the schedule.

The camp day begins with supervised free play in the museum from 9:00–9:30 AM, followed by daily orientation and themed activities. Lunch and recess take place at noon, with afternoon activities running from 1:00–3:00 PM. Optional extended care is available until 5:00 PM and includes an afternoon snack and supervised museum playtime for added flexibility for working families.
