1 WEEK CAMPS

JUNE ONLY

Age Range = grade just completed

 

THE VOICE WITHIN (Voice Workshop)

Teacher: Jane Volke (Elementary) / Colton Berry (Middle School)

1st Grade to 5th Grade / 6th Grade to 8th Grade

June 8th – 12th / M-F / 9am – 4pm

Description: This camp will expose students to proper vocal technique, from classical singing to healthy belting. Through exciting songs and musical selections, they will be guided through sight-reading and understanding sheet music. Students will find their voices and learn the ropes of what it takes to become a professional singer.

Tuition: $200/week

 

TAPPIN’ THE BLUES AWAY AND ALL THAT JAZZ (Tap and Jazz Workshop)

Teachers: Luke Hamilton

1st Grade to 5th Grade / 6th Grade to 8th Grade

June 15th – 19th / M-F / 9am – 4pm

Description: An exciting, weeklong camp focused on developing essential Broadway Tap and musical theatre jazz skills. Students will be taught basic technique and the vocabulary of steps, while also getting to learn popular dance numbers and motifs from shows like Anything Goes, 42nd Street, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Chicago and The Pajama Game.

Tuition: $200/week

 

ACTORS IN WONDERLAND (Acting Workshop)

Teacher: Colton Berry, and Luke Hamilton

1st Grade to 5th Grade / 6th Grade to 8th Grade

June 22nd – 26th / M-F / 9am – 4pm

Description: This camp will expose students to beginner/intermediate acting techniques. Through Viewpoint exercises, improvisation work, scene study and monologue work, students will learn fundamental acting theories in an accessible and exciting way. Students will be guided to think outside of the box and explore the many ways to express themselves as different, unique and believable characters.

Tuition: $200/week

 

THE STEPHEN SCHWARTZTACULAR (Musical Theatre Workshop)

Teacher: Colton Berry, Luke Hamilton and Jane Volke

1st Grade to 5th Grade / 6th Grade to 8th Grade

June 29th – July 3rd / M-F / 9am – 4pm

Description: This camp is an extensive week of acting, dance and vocal training, utilizing the work of the great composer Stephen Schwartz. Students will learn many of his popular songs, culminating in a mini-cabaret where they will perform solos, duets, and group songs. Musical numbers will be from shows such as Wicked, Children of Eden, The Prince of Egypt, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Godspell, Pippin, and many more!

Tuition: $200/week

 

1 HOUR CLASSES

CREATING THE MAGIC (Theatre Design Class)

Teacher: Colton Berry and Jane Volke

8th Grade to 12th Grade

Mondays / 4pm – 5pm

Description: Through a “learning by doing” approach, students will learn theatre design techniques and skills that make the magic of a show possible. This class will include interactive lessons on theatrical make-up, prop-making, set building, and costume design. Students will have hands on opportunities to create theater magic.

Tuition: $60/4 classes

 

THOROUGHLY MODERN TAPPING (Tap Class)

Teacher: Luke Hamilton

8th Grade to 12th Grade

Tuesdays / 4pm – 5pm

Description: This class will be a crash course, intensive, demanding and in depth look at the importance of having solid tap technique. From learning to make clean and crisp tap sounds, to learning iconic steps from famous tappers like Gregory Hines and Ruby Keeler, this class is sure to expand your students knowledge, technique and repertoire of tap steps.

Tuition: $60/4 classes

 

MASTERING THE MODERN MUSICAL THEATRE VOICE (Pop Vocals Class)

8th Grade to 12th Grade

Wednesdays / 4pm – 5pm

HOW TO SUCCEED IN ACTING… (Acting Class)

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN JAZZ? (Jazz Class)

Teacher: Luke Hamilton

8th Grade to 12th Grade

Fridays / 4pm – 5pm

Description: This class will focus on flexibility, jazz terminology and execution, style and individuality, and will expose students to challenging jazz choreography through use of multiple combinations. As ballet is a necessary core for dancers, students will also be learning how ballet and it’s technical importance is crucial and empowering for jazz dancers.

Tuition: $60/4 classes

 

4 WEEK PRODUCTION CAMP

JULY AND AUGUST ONLY

Age Range = grade just completed

Rehearsals: July 6th to August 5th

Performances: August 6th – August 9th
