CYT Houston offers Musical Theater Classes, Camps, and Shows for students ages 5-18 throughout the school year. Classes include drama, voice, dance, and behind-the-scenes training in makeup, costumes, tech, and more. We offer Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions for Classes and Shows, and Summer Camps and Shows.
We live out and teach students CYT Values of Character over Competition, Excellence over Ego, People over Programs and Service over Spotlight!

CYT Houston offers Musical Theater Classes for students ages 5-18 throughout the school year.
Classes include
- drama
- voice
- dance
- improv
- specialty classes in behind-the-scenes training in makeup, costumes, script writing, tech, and more.
Classes are held for two hours once a week and run for nine consecutive weeks in Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions.
Class sizes are small and offer supervision both inside and outside the classroom.
Each session culminates in a high-energy showcase to demonstrate to family, friends, and fellow students the skills acquired.
Students 8-18 who are enrolled in a Fall, Winter, or Spring class are eligible to audition for one of our Broadway-style Musicals!
- In a typical season, CYT Houston produces 7-10 Broadway-style musicals!
- Enrollment in CYT classes provides students (ages 8-18) the opportunity to audition for any current production.
- Depending on age and ability, students who are not cast in shows can participate behind the scenes in the crew program, technical team, or the costume and makeup committees.
Audiences of all ages will be blown away by the incredible talent and the excellent caliber of production value on the the CYT stage! CYT shows are appropriate for the entire family and are an excellent way to introduce children to the arts!
CYT Houston offers Summer Camps that are a fun and energetic immersion into the world of musical theater. Camps are jam-packed with games, activities, and interactive workshops that build performance skills, self-confidence, and teamwork. Our camps include rotations through drama, dance, music, behind-the-scenes workshops, and a concluding performance for family and friends!
CYT offers 4 types of Summer Camps
- DAY CAMP (age 5-12), one week of daily rotations and activities with a final showcase
- SUMMER STOCK (age 8-15) which produces a fully staged and costumed, ticketed show in 2 weeks
- BACKSTAGE NINJAS (age 13-18) to train as a behind-the-scenes theater technician, assists with the 2 week summer stock
- TEEN/YOUNG ADULT BOOTCAMP or SUMMER STOCK (age 13-21) which focuses on development of skills and fellowship for our older students and young adults
