Flamart launched its programming in 2006 in an effort to expand the Houston artistic and cultural landscape. As current headlines have made us aware, our society is in need of programs that facilitate understanding of other cultures and the need for tolerance in order to have a civil society. With established local and national collaborations, FLAMART'S programs reach audiences surpassing 12,000 annually that feature innovative programs such as: Salsa y Salud (the nation’s biggest live salsa and health show); the Afro-Latin Fest (presenting the country’s largest curriculum of classes of its kind): the KIFEST (Kids International Festival – a celebration of diversity for kids and youth); the Concert Series (celebrating the music, dances, and art of Latin America from classical to popular).
