In addition to attending Grub Spirit Day, community members are invited to participate in
The Woodlands Children’s Museum’s Million Penny Challenge by dropping off pennies at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280, in The Woodlands.
For each contribution in October, the donor will receive a coupon for a free milkshake, with the purchase of an entrée, at Grub Burger Bar. The coupon can be used during Grub Spirit Day or another time.
The museum’s Million Penny Challenge, launched in August, is an effort to collect 1 million one-cent coins by Nov. 1. The fund-raiser commemorates the 110th anniversary of the U.S. Lincoln penny, which was introduced on Aug. 2, 1909.
Visitors are encouraged to collect pennies in a plastic bag and bring it to the museum. School groups and community organizations can join the fun, too, and see how many pennies they can collect.
Everyone who contributes to the One Million Penny Challenge now through Nov. 1 will be entered in a grand-prize drawing for a year of free Whataburger.
