Join us for another Gullah-inspired workshop this month! Indigo and the color blue are important markers of the Gullah Geechee heritage and are deeply rooted in African culture. Seen as a symbol to protect themselves, their families and homes from harm, the Gullah Geechee people have used the power of blue for centuries. [Join Molly Koehn from the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft as she tells us about Indigo dye, how it's made and teaches us how to dye our own handkerchief during this interactive workshop! Great for children ages 6 and older. Event times: 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM in Art Academy. Sign-up outside of the Art Academy and are limited.
