Main Street Theater Houston

Founded in 1975 on Main Street, we now work out of 2 facilities: our Rice Village home on Times Blvd., and as part of the MATCH (Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston) back on Main Street as well as dozens of schools, community centers, and libraries around the Greater Houston Area. Our nationally-recognized MainStage produces intellectually and emotionally engaging professional productions for adults who. Audiences from Houston and across the U.S. turn to us for plays they cannot see anywhere else. Our professional Theater for Youth produces engaging productions based on children’s literature for families and school groups, both at the MATCH in Midtown Houston and on tour around Texas, and our Education and Outreach programs for youth ages 4 - 18 take place around the Greater Houston area, during the school day, after school, on weekends, and over holiday breaks.
