DEC. 10 - 27: SEASONS OF SHARING
With more than 100 languages spoken throughout the Houston area, the Bayou City is a thriving home to a variety of cultures from around the globe. Take a peek into Ramadan, Diwali, Hanukkah, Las Posadas, Christmas in Norway, Kwanzaa and the Lunar New Year during our Seasons of Sharing WonderWeeks, Dec. 10 to 27. Holidays celebrated throughout the world will vibrantly burst under one roof with the Seasons of Sharing exhibit (now – Jan. 3), live performances and interactive workshops.
ONGOING ACTIVITIES:
- Mehndi Hand Art: Design Hindu hand art at Alexander Art Academy.
- Race to Rudolf: Practice addition in a reindeer game atExxonMobil Math Cart.
- St. Lucia Crown of Lights: Make a Swedish crown of lights atJunktion.
- Rangoli Revelry: Create Indian-inspired folk art at Junktion.
- Macaroni Menorah: Shine bright with a macaroni menorah atJunktion.
- Dreidel Game: Learn about Hebrew letters in a game of dreidel at ExxonMobil Math Cart.
- The Great Migration: Learn why monarch butterflies migrate to Mexico at EcoStation.
- Marble Run: Build a track from recycled items at Science Station.
- The Mitten: Listen to a Ukranian winter tale as we read Alvin Tresselt's The Mitten in Parent Resource Library.
