The Spring Creek Greenway connects and protects approximately 7,000 acres of forest in Harris County along Spring Creek, preserving this ecological gem as a mecca for ecotourism, education, and outdoor recreation just north of Houston. Explore more than 19 miles of natural forests and white sandy beaches along Spring Creek by visiting Harris County Precinct 4’s park system! Stop by for a picnic, discover local wildlife and plant species, enjoy canoeing and kayaking, archery, and nature trails perfect for hiking and biking. Visit the Spring Creek Greenway today to experience the great outdoors! Part of the Spring Creek Greenway, the 25-acre Peckinpaugh Preserve located just south of the Grand Parkway, opened in 2005 with Spring Creek forming the southern boundary of the picturesque, wooded area. Named for the family that once owned much of the land along Spring Creek, this preserve offers one of the best views of Spring Creek at the Peckinpaugh Overlook. The preserve contains 2,385 linear feet or almost one-half of a mile of frontage along the banks of Spring Creek and a variety of natural habitats.
