Summer Day Camp

All Day Campers receive personal attention. We want our Campers to leave the ranch with lots of smiles, good memories, and horsemanship skills to last a lifetime. Campers are guaranteed at least two hours of riding each day on forested trails along Cypress Creek. They will spend time learning about and caring for horses in a safe and wholesome atmosphere.
Each Day Camper will be assigned a horse for the duration of their program. Camp activities include grooming and tacking horses as well as riding instruction. Safe practices are taught and reinforced during the day. Day Campers will be asked to perform barn chores, such as mucking stalls, feeding horses, oiling tack, and whatever else is needed to keep our horses healthy and happy.
Campers will be taught how to groom, saddle and bridle their assigned horse. General horsemanship will be taught, the mind of the horse and basic riding instructions, how to control the horse with hand and leg cues, proper body position and trail safety. During the Camp our instructors will also offer lessons on the parts of bridles, saddles and of the horse as well as other equine related topics such as horse colors and breeds.
