Where Science and Summer Fun Meet!
Introduction
It’s that time of year again and we’ve been working hard to prepare a science camp experience that will make your student excited about science. We will explore some new destinations as well as some old favorites. Your student has seen the pictures in the science textbooks, now they can experience the science in action, first hand. Whether it’s experiencing flying high at I-Fly or exploring the Hill Country by Zip-Line, your child is sure to learn and see many fascinating things—not to mention having a great time. Who knows, we might blow up something!
We believe the middle school/junior high years are a time for exploring and investigation…and having a lot of fun learning along the way. Young people are developing their dreams for the future at this age. At Summer Science Safari, we help students envision their futures. We pack as much science and learning into five days as we can by taking students to places where science actually happens, then top it off with lots of fun. Think of our camps 12-15 field trips to places where science actually happens. Along with several other science professionals we have created a science adventure that you don’t want to miss.
We are again offering this exciting camp in the Kingwood/Atascocita/Humble areas, The Woodlands, Katy, Sugar Land/Fort Bend County, and Clear Lake City/The Bay Area. We will pick up and return students to a Middle School, Junior High School or Intermediate school in these areas, however, all current year 5th through 8th grade students IN THESE AREAS are eligible to attend. In fact, our students come from around the country to our camp. See our website and the Kids Out and About Calender for details and local area information.
We are excited to welcome Chaillie Mapes from Beck Junior High School to our camp, this summer. She began her career as an 8th Grade Science teacher in Katy ISD. After 3 years of teaching 8th grade, Chaille transitioned to teach 6th grade science, which she has done for the past 10 years. Additionally, during her time at CJH, Chaille has coached the CJH Science Olympiad team for 3 years and was even a Counselor for Texas State University’s ‘Aquatic Science Adventure Camp’ for 2 sessions. Chaille has a passion & curiosity for all things science and she enjoys sharing that passion & curiosity with her students. This is Chaille’s 1st year leading the Summer Science Safari at Beck. She has a variety of experience leading field trips and a desire to show your students what fun science can be.
