Creating Another World: Creature Creations
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Austin Bat Cave and Equidad ATX invite you to visit Turner Roberts Recreation Center for our Creature Creations workshop, where participants create other worlds. This event promotes creativity and imagination through performance, writing, and interactive devising of their own worlds. With puppets, performers, and whimsy, we aim to make literacy fun and immersive. This workshop focuses on conjuring a faraway world of your child's choosing—from the weather and environment to the plants and animals to whimsical, colorful, and unique out-of-this-world characters that inhabit these new worlds.
All participants will receive a book of their choice from our free book fair and have the opportunity to have their work published in Austin Bat Cave’s upcoming Anthology, Portals.
If you require an accommodation (such as ASL interpretation) to participate in this event, please contact Gustavo Martinez at gustavo@austinbatcave.org at least 10 days prior to the event.
This project is supported in part by an Elevate Grant of Austin Arts, Culture, Music, & Entertainment.
