Homeschooled students and their families are invited for an educational day at the Aquarium and Kemah Boardwalk! This is a special day to learn more about our animals and explore the wonders of the aquatic world. Keeper Chats, Scavenger Hunts and a Conservation Station with purchase of Stingray Reef Admission. Enjoy Keeper Chats, Scavenger Hunts and a Conservation Station. The activities take place in our Stingray Reef.

Stingray Reef individual tickets are sold online in advance at this time for a discounted rate. Tickets purchased on-site the day of the event will be charged at full price. (Entry $5.99 / Value Pass $7.50 Includes Reef entry and fish food)

Join us at the Aquarium during any of our special events and upgrade your visit! This is a Kemah Boardwalk-wide event, homeschoolers and their families will receive discounts on rides and retail! We are now giving guests, friends and families the chance to upgrade their experiences with an Aquarium Tour and Education Program! Upgrade prices below include your entry admission to Stingray Reef & Exhibits!

Rockin' the Rainforest $10.99 (Grades 1-6)

Students will learn about the 4 different levels of rainforests, what animals live and thrive at each level, how these animals have adapted for survival in the rainforests, and other interesting facts about each animal! Includes 2-3 live animals for participants to see up close.

The Aquarium is home to more than just fish! We have an entire exhibit dedicated to rainforests. Students learn all about the layers of a rainforest, meet some of the animals that live there, discover their unique adaptations and learn more about how they can make a difference in conservation.

Aquarium Exhibit Tours $10.99 (All Ages)

Join us on a guided tour of our upstairs and downstairs exhibits including our 38,000 gallon featured Dining tank, Tower tank and Stingray Reef Exhibits. Learn fun facts about the 100 species of fish that call the Aquarium their home from a knowledgeable educator.

Squidy Anatomy $10.99 (Grades 1-12)

Each participant will receive a squid along with dissection tools. We dissect the squids together as a group and learn about each body part and what role these body parts play in order to keep a squid alive. Includes general squid facts.
There are roughly 300 species of squid in the world – the largest weighing up to 1,000 pounds! In this program, students learn all about squid and their amazing adaptations with a hands-on dissection led by our knowledgeable educators.

• The calendar on this page showcases dates and times available.
• Each Education Program and Aquarium Tour includes entry Admission to Stingray Reef and Exhibits (for registered participants and 1 Adult Chaperone only). You do not have to purchase separately.*
• Fish food is available for purchase day of for $2.99
• Please note that if you would like to purchase multiple educational programs they must be purchased additionally. One does not include all.
• ALL participants must purchase your upgraded Aquarium Tour and Education Program tickets online.
• Space is limited, advanced online reservations are required and are served on a first come, first served basis.
• Due to space constraints in the classroom space, only 1 Adult Chaperone will be admitted to the Classroom Programs free of charge. Additional adults can enjoy the aquarium while their students are in the class. Siblings and strollers are not allowed in the Classroom Programs.
• Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your event to allow for parking to ensure your experience to the fullest extent possible at your programs start time. The program spaces are utilized at various durations throughout the day and cannot be extended beyond your scheduled time.
• Check-in for programs and tours is located at the entrance of the Nautilus Ballroom located on the 3rd floor.
• To begin your tour/program, meet in the Aquarium Restaurant in the Nautilus Ballroom with the group at the start time after checking in.
• Redeem your Admissions by providing your emailed receipt to the Treasure Chest Gift Shop.
• Children are not to be left unattended.
• No outside food or beverages are allowed.
• We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items the duration of the program.
• We will need a minimum of 10 participants to run each program, if the programing does not reach this minimum, you will be contacted and full refunds will be processed if necessary.
