Juneteenth Freedom Celebration
The Juneteenth Freedom Celebration event is hosted in partnership with Melanin Moms of Pearland, Visionary Outreach, and the City of Pearland. This event is in its second year of conception of bringing unity and knowledge of Juneteenth, why we observe the holiday and its significance as it marks the end of slavery in Texas at the end of the Civil War. Join us for a full day of community celebration beginning at Pearland High School. The festivities begin from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at PHS with a variety of engaging activities, including a Career and College Fair, film screenings, and lively line dancing.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Later in the afternoon, the excitement continues as the community gathers for the parade, which kicks off promptly at 5 p.m.
Starting at 5:30 p.m. at Independence Park, kids can enjoy their own fun in the Kids Zone, open until 7:30 p.m. At 6 p.m., live music will take the stage, setting the tone for a festive evening that continues until the event wraps up at 10 p.m.
Parking is available both onsite and at City Hall, and best of all, entry is completely free.
