Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

With authentically outfitted re-enactors, old-fashioned games, crafts, interactive experiences, a petting zoo, and musical performances, this free, family-friendly event will bring the past to life. View live demonstrations in woodworking, blacksmithing, gardening, fire starting, and more while enjoying samples of fresh cornbread, yaupon tea, jerky, freshly churned butter, and other outdoor fare. Chicken sandwiches, hotdogs, chips, and drinks will also be available at the concession booth. The Akokisa Village will host interpreters of Native American lore as well as five historically recreated structures, including a chickee, sweat lodge, and council lodge. Hand-crafted items such as leather pouches, bonnets, yarn dolls, flint knapped arrowheads, and necklaces will be available for purchase at the Peddler Wagon and Settler Store. Please note, the concession booth, Peddler Wagon, and Settler Store will accept cash only, with proceeds supporting Jesse Jones Park Volunteers events and activities at Jones Park.
